Show Me and Teach Me

September 11, 2022

Pastor Helms taught about following the Lord's path and not being ashamed to show the world our faith.  We can declare that we will lift up or souls to the Lord and trust in Him, wait on God and not be ashamed, pray that God shows His ways that we can go therein, He can teach us and lead us in His truth because He is our Lord and our salvation.  We fill in the blank on the following- "I will _____ you "24/7"!"  The scriptures used for this message were Psalms 25:1-5 NKJV.

Building your Relationship with God

September 18, 2022

Pastor Helms discussed building your relationship with God by picking up where he left off in Psalms last week.  After a short review of Psalms 25:1-5, he used verses 6-15 for this Sunday.  He went through how David asked the Lord to remember and forget (based on the Lord's mercy).  He went on with how, because He is good and upright, God works with different groups of people and the relationship between the Lord and his followers/believers.  He put forth that as believers and followers of Christ, we want to  experience and understand:

-That we can dwell/live in the mercies and loving kindness of Jesus.

-That if we sin, we should confess and ask forgiveness.

-That if we trust him, God will teach us in ways that He chooses.
-That as we grow closer to Him, He will show us His secrets.
-That if our eyes remain on Him, He will rescue us from the net of the enemy.

Children's Message

September 25, 2022

Pastor Helms spoke to the children and told the story about the prodigal son.  He told them, and reminded the adults, that no matter what happens or what we do, God will always love us and will always welcome us home.  We don't have to live with the pigs and eat the slop.  We have a home and the best of what He has waiting for us, all we have to do is come home!

If you are looking for a perfect church, we would not be your choice.  Each one of us, including the pastors, are all a work in progress.  We are a body of believers on a journey of faith who passionately love Jesus.  We make a genuine effort to practice the one another’s—such as, love one another, pray for one another, encourage one another, have fellowship with one another, etc.  Each Sunday morning we engage the congregation in proclaiming the ‘Declaration of Faith’ which appears in our Welcome! Home page. We want the services in our sanctuary to be a reflection of Ephesians 5:19 “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, . . . “  We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and endeavor to base every message from the pulpit on scripture.  We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12.  We long to see those gifts become more apparent in our church following the pattern laid out in scripture.  I welcome you to come and check us out.  We just might be the kind of church you are looking for.
